Heron’s Eye will host an Earth Exchange on Friday, June 20 at 6:00 pm. We will gather peacefully along the Lackawaxen River Towpath where the Tennessee Gas Pipeline crosses under the river. Our aim is to offer an act of beauty to this wounded place by creating a Radical Joy Bird out of natural materials found there. In a unique collaboration, the New York Council for the Humanities has joined forces with the Western Sullivan Public Library (WSPL) and Heron’s Eye Communications to offer a scholarly book discussion group centered on the theme ‘serving’ that runs from February 25th until June 3rd. “With its thematic focus, this reading and discussion program offers an unusual twist on the standard book group format by making time for thinking deeply about one idea, over time, from a variety of perspectives,”

We mourn the passing, but celebrate the outstanding life of the infinitely inspiring Louis Arthur Watres (1922-2014). He was known as Arthur to most people. Arthur Watres Legacy Arthur, along with his mother, Isabel, established Lacawac Sanctuary in Lake Ariel, PA. The sanctuary has fostered a spectacular environmental and educational legacy.
