During her stay as Shenandoah National Park’s first Artist in Residence last fall, Heron’s Eye Communications Co-Founder Sandy Long was interviewed by several media outlets including the Piedmont Virginian.
The Piedmont Virginian is a beautiful lifestyle magazine that artfully gives voice to the special qualities of the northern Piedmont region of Virginia, has run an article by Cassandra Brown in its Winter 2015 issue about Sandy’s experience. See the article HERE.
Also, Sandy has compiled a gallery of images captured as part of her residency. A percentage of the profit on their sales will be gifted to the Shenandoah National Park Trust, which supported her 12-day photographic journey through this magnificent park in Virginia.
From Shenandoah’s grand landscapes and dreamy vistas, to its diverse flora and fauna, to its most delicate notitia—Sandy sought to capture the essential details at the heart of our place-based relationships by exploring peaks and trails, capturing sunsets and sunrises, prowling through meadows and climbing mountain trails.
